    Hello,

Until now I install Wordfence and faclcon engine on my main domain ( logologics.nl ) and on every test subfolder like for example https://logologics.nl/builder/.

Does the install on the main domain, affect all seperate wordpress installations?

It seems that if I do not install and enable falcon engine in a seperate wordpress subfolder, it does not profit speed improvement from the main domain website?

However, the activation of Falcon engine on my main domain, now seems to block the button shortcode from the SiteOrigin pagebuilder plugin?

    1. should install on main domain protect and improve speed for all subfolders?

    2. how can I solve the blocking of that code, I really want to keep Wordfence and Falcon engine, does an amazing job!

    Thanks,
    Annie

    Hello,

The blocking of the code is resolved by whitelisting it in Wordfence live trafic.

Still I would like to know if the install on the main domain, affect all seperate wordpress installations?

    Thanks,
    Annie

    Hello LogoLogics,
I hope I am understanding your question here. If not, please correct me. If you install Wordfence and use Falcon in a root site, Falcon will not be caching any subfolder installations but only the root site (the one in which Wordfence is installed).

If you have a multisite installation Wordfence cache will work for all sites in that installation.

    Hello wfasa,

    You understood correctly!

So every subfolder should have its own Wordfence installation to be protected and its own falcon engine for speed.

I came up with this question, because the enabled firewall on my root was blocking a shortcode in one of my test/subfolders on that same domain and that wordpress installation even did not have a Wordfence plugin installed.

I tested my brains out haha, and finally noticed that if I disabled the firewall in the root wordpress intallation, the shortcode no longer was blocked./causing issues.

It seems that if in the root is a wordfence firewall active, that impacts even all subfolders??

In the settings of the ( new ) firewall of Wordfence, it states it might be better to first set the subfolders before activating the firewall in the root. So I am a bit confused about the firewall and its impact on subfolders even if they dont have wordfence installed?

    Thanks,
    Annie

    Hello again,
well the Firewall uses a special feature that makes it very powerful. After it has been configured, it loads before any other code loads on your website in every single PHP file on your website. Because of that if you don’t have a Firewall configured on a subfolder install all the files in that subfolder install will still be affected by the root Wordfence Firewall.

It should work to configure the Firewall in a subfolder install first and then in a root install (both on the same account).

In your case where ther root is blocking a sub I think it should still be possible to set the Firewall to “Learning mode” there to teach it to not block that action.

    Hello,

Yes, by de-activating and re-activating the firewall on the main domain, it worked just fine in the subfolders as well!

    Thanks for your help,
    Annie

Is there a way to whitelist a subfolder so a different program’s (forum) actions aren’t effected by the firewall?
