Does WordPress automatically redirect if I change link structure?

I purchased the site https://aboutcolonblank.com/ a while back and the URL structure is the WordPress default of https://aboutcolonblank.com/?p=123.

I’d like to change it to the day and name format https://aboutcolonblank.com/2013/11/05/sample-post/.

I don’t, however, want to lose all of the search ranks/trust from the old posts. I also don’t want to have to redirect all of them individually because there are thousands.

So, if I make this change, will WordPress take care of those redirects automatically? Or is there a plugin that will do it, if not?
