Does WP have shopping cart functionality?

    I’m going to build a website for a theater company and need to include a shopping cart function for online ticket sales. Does WordPress handle that kind of functionality?

  • wordpress can do pretty much anything with the proper coding, theme, or plugin

    If you do some searches you’ll probably find many wordpress e-commerce or shopping cart plugins

    so the short answer, yes, it supports that

    There are a couple great plugins for WordPress to quickly add shopping carts (WP-ecommerce is one for sure) but WordPress itself does not natively have a shopping cart.

    With that said, Great Chefs website is made with WP and has a complete cart in it without any plugins beyond custom fields, so yes it’s very possible if (as Rev. Voodoo points out) you code it.
