Does WP support seperate user access levels?

  • I am looking to set up a new website, which will have three layers of access rights.

    First, there will be content visible for everyone to see.
    Secondly, there is content visible only to those who have been logged in.
    Thirdly, some content will be available only to those who are premium members.

    Does WP support such a segmentation in members? And if it does, is it possible to let a snippet be visible to everyone, but the read-more link filter out who gets to see it and who does not? This way, I would want to entice “non members” to sign up for a free account, and upgrade regulars to premiums.
