• Hi everyone,
I am wondering if a theme submited in the wordpress theme repository can be validated by the review team if it includes a custom post type (used for a slider for example).

Thanks for your answer/feedback, it will help me deliver a clean coded theme to the community (currently in the theme repository here : https://themes.trac.www.ads-software.com/ticket/12131)

    Have a nice day!

  • I am not aware of any submission guidelines that forbid custom post types, so you shouldn’t have any problems on that score.

same here : I did not read anything in the submission guidelines, but I was not sure as custom post types might be a plugin territory only…
    Thanks for your help!

If you’d like a definitive answer on this, try posting to the theme reviewers list. I’m sure they’d be happy to answer your question. I’m 99% certain that they’ll say “No problem” but there’s that 1% doubt as I haven’t submitted a theme using CPTs myself.

    Good luck with the review.
