Does Yoast Count Shortcodes as words?

Hi,

We would not expect Yoast to count shortcodes from Visual Composer. However, in our testing with VC v24, Yoast SEO v13 and WordPress v5.3.2 Yoast was not counting the text at all.

We added text with VC (see image: https://pasteboard.co/IUcrYgJ.png) and Yoast is unable to find the text. See image: https://pasteboard.co/IUcs52N.png.

Can you elaborate more on what is happening in the backend on your site? Is everything all updated? Are you able to take a screenshot? You can use a tool like: https://pasteboard.co/ to share the image.
