    Hello,

Alipay charges their own transaction fees, theis amount varies depending on what your total transaction amount in the previous month was.

I would like to know if your fee of 2% in the free plan, includes Alipay’s fee, or if it is separate to it. For example, if it is separate, and Alipay also charges 2%, then as the seller, am I charged a total of 2 + 2 = 4% on my total sale?

    Thank you.

Hi @stephunique – thanks for reaching out about China Payments Plugin.

I should clarify that our plugin does not yet integrate directly with Alipay – it integrates with Stripe.

The plugin takes advantage of the Stripe + Alipay integration in order to process Alipay payments through your Stripe account. Stripe sets it’s own fees for those kinds of payments, so to be sure you’re fully aware of those fees by themselves, please contact Stripe support.

If you’re using the free version of the plugin, there is a 2% transaction fee added when connecting your Stripe account to our Stripe Platform Application for China Payments Plugin. We built it and put very hard work into maintaining this plugin, so we feel that fee is reasonable, and is separate from any fees incurred by Stripe.

If you are processing a higher payments volume and want to avoid the 2% fee, you can feel free to review our website or documentation for the PRO version details.

We may support a direct Alipay integration in the future, and I’m not sure about the fee structure that would be possible for that integration, but it won’t be any higher than 2% on our side, if any.

Please let me know if you have any other questions. I will mark this as resolved for now.
