There is an article on ACF talking about how to use ACF 5 for bi-directional relationships. Can you help me understand how this differs?

    Thanks!

No, not that I know of, unless you know something that I don’t. To get this in ACF you need to code it as explained here https://www.advancedcustomfields.com/resources/bidirectional-relationships/.

The difference is that this plugin

    1. does it automatically
    2. works with relationship field and post object fields, including mixing them
    3. automatically adheres to maximum values allows in all fields
    4. this plugin sets specific guidelines on what fields it will operate on, see the other info link for more information

Basically, this plugin uses the information in the tutorial I linked to but takes it a couple of steps further.

If you know of more recent information on this being implemented in ACF core, please point me to it.
