• my client was promoting an event and I put up the form as an RSVP. A few days from the event they wanted the RSVP list so I looked it up. It turns out I couldnt download a CSV. At first I thought they needed me to upgrade to access the data, which is already sleazy. But not only that – they hadn’t saved any of the data.
WP forms please tell me even one good reason to have a form on your website that doesn’t collect data.

They were having people fill out the form. Sending them a “we have recieved your bla bla bla we’ll be in contact shortly” and they weren’t saving the data.

Yall are useless and I’d leave 0 stars if I could

  • Hi @cbolorinos,

I’m sorry to hear you’re running into issues with emails!

This is, unfortunately, a growing issue all across the internet. In most cases, this is a result of the rise in spam — as spam emails have gotten more common (and more clever in their strategies), email providers like Google, Outlook, etc have ramped up their efforts to block those spam emails from ever touching our inboxes.

But as a side effect, sometimes legitimate emails are getting blocked too (either sent to spam or not delivered at all).

The good news, though, is that there’s a solution: setting up SMTP on your site. An SMTP plugin will authenticate your emails, which helps email providers to understand that they’re legitimate and should get delivered. No matter what forms plugin you decide to use on your site (though of course we hope you’ll stick with ours!), I’d strongly recommend setting this up.

Here’s our tutorial to get started.

If you have questions about any details in that tutorial, please also feel welcome to post in our support forum here on www.ads-software.com.

I hope this helps, and that you might consider revising your review at some point!
