    Hi there,
thanks for this plugin. It’s very useful. But when i try “set a post thumbnail” and when i change filter with mla categories it didn’t load any files. When i use media upload on another field it works. What should i do with “thumbnail” case? I’m using WP 3.6 and MLA 1.43.

And one more… What do i have to modified in plugins that doesn’t support mla filtering? They media upload window doesn’t show mla options.

I’m glad you find the plugin useful; thanks. I want to make sure I understand your questions. Let me break the questions down and see if I’m on the right track. In your first question:

    1. You say ‘when i try “set a post thumbnail”‘; do you mean the “Set Featured Image” link in the Featured Image metabox on the Edit Post screen, or the “Set Featured Image” tab on the left side of the Media Manager “media upload window” (I don’t see anything specifically labeled “set a post thumbnail”)?
    2. You say ‘change filter with mla categories‘. Do you mean the dropdown list that starts with “All Att. Categories” when you open the upload window? It sounds like you are pulling down the list and selecting a specific Att. Category value to filter the list; is that right?
    3. You say ‘When i use media upload on another field it works‘. What do you mean by ‘another field‘?

If I have understood your question, you are trying to filter your Media Library by selecting a specific value in the Att. Category taxonomy and there are no attachments showing up in the media upload window. I have not been able to reproduce this problem on my test system, but here are two additional questions that might help us find the problem.

First, have you tried the “Insert Media” and “Create Gallery” tabs at the left of the media upload window? Do those features display some attachments when you filter by Att. Category?

Second, does the value you are selecting on show up in the Att. Category column on the Media/Assistant submenu table?

Please look over the above questions and let me know if I am understanding your question. If I have more information I can be more helpful.

For your second question, it sounds like you are using other plugins that enhance the media upload window, and those other plugins do not include the MLA enhancements on the media upload window toolbar. If that’s right, I regret that the news is not good. Here are two earlier support topics with similar questions:

filter not showing in modal popup window for image widget

    Problem with Simplefields

The media upload window is a new addition to WordPress and the techniques for enhancing it with plugins are not very clear.

I haven’t heard back with any further details on this issue. If you can answer questions I posed in my reply I would be happy to help.

I have released version 1.51, which contains some improvements in the way MLA interacts with the “drag & drop” uploading in the Media Manager Modal Window. It’s possible this change will help resolve your issue as well.

If you have a chance to try the new release, let me know if it helps. If not, answers to the questions I posed in my earlier post would give me the information I need to be of more assistance.

Sorry for my late response for your posts. Yes, i mean “Set featured image” on post edit page. When i filtered by dropdown field then script didnt print anything back.

I’m using form plugin which has a upload field based on wordpress media window, and mla works with it so i was suprised that “featured image” didnt.

I dont update the plugin yet but i will soon. Please give me some time to check it and back to the topic.

    Cheers,
    Kamil

    Kamil,

Thanks for this update. If I have understood your question, you are trying to filter your Media Library by selecting a specific value in the Att. Category taxonomy and there are no attachments showing up in the media upload window (“script didn’t print anything back” – right?). I have not been able to reproduce this problem on my test system, “Set Featured Image” works for me. Here are two additional questions that might help us find the problem.

First, have you tried the “Insert Media” and “Create Gallery” tabs at the left of the media upload window? Do those features display some attachments when you filter by Att. Category?

Second, does the value you are selecting on show up in the Att. Category column on the Media/Assistant submenu table?

You say “I’m using form plugin“, and it works. That’s great; can you tell me the full name of the form plugin you are using? Did you have a question about some other plugin that is not working?

Let me know what happens with the new release (v1.52). I want to make sure everything is working for you.

    Kamil,

I has been two months since your last post on this topic. If you are still having trouble with this issue, let me know and give me any answers you can to the questions I raised in my last post.

If I do not hear from you, I will assume you are no longer having trouble with the Set Featured Image operation, and I will mark this topic resolved.

    Kamil,

I am marking this issue resolved. If you still have this issue with version 1.70, let me know. Thanks for your interest in the plugin.

I have released MLA v1.90, which changes the way controls are added to the Media Manager Modal Window toolbar. In my testing, this resolves the issue you reported with other plugins.
