Doesn’t show on pages only archive pages

Can you point me to where it is being displayed, I browsed a few pages on your site but I don’t see the related posts

Is it a page vs post thing. Have you by any chance selected in the settings to display on pages as well… Add related posts to.

Separately, it looks like you might be using a page builder (elementor?) is there a separate view for pages that needs the shortcode added. I’m not that familiar with Elementor.

sorry for the delay – I never receive a notice that you reply! I have it set to display on both pages and posts and yes, I am using elementor and just adding the shortcode to the page. Even when I add it with the widget, it still does not display. Here is the blog page: https://littlelist.com/blog/ I have added it to the sidebar 3 different ways and none show it. the crp widget, text area with the shortcode: [crp limit=”7″ heading=”1″ cache=”0″] and using the elementor shortcode widget which you add the same shortcode.

Sorry for the delay. I’ve been thinking this through and I suspect this is because it is an archive page. WordPress doesn’t have a unique post ID if this is an archive page and the plugin can’t figure out what is the related post for the archive. It should display the related posts on a post by post basis. Is this what you see in the other pages i.e. archives/tags?

Hi Ajay – thanks for the reply. It is odd because it is not an archive page at all. In fact, I did a test and made the blog page: in the reading settings as the “blog” page (it was not before) and it still did not do anything. It seems that every page (not post, category, tag) does not display it yet all of the posts and categories and archive pages do. I do not have it set to not display on pages in the plugin settings nor on any of the individual pages. I have tried adding a sidebar into the page which has the related posts in it and still it does not show. BUT, it does show up on the homepage which is a page… Thoughts?

On the home page, this is a custom page from what I can see which is why it has its own custom ID and hence displays

/blog/ is an “archive” page and doesn’t have a custom id and so the plugin gives a blank.

Same with any of your other archive pages.

In the settings where you have option to add to archive pages, what it means is adding it to every post in the archive page so it would display below the post whenever the_content is called.

actually blog is not an archive page its id is: 8117. It is a page with a shortcode to add in posts of a certain category. About us page’s id is 56. I am using the shortcode for displaying related posts in all of the templates I have created. For the blog when I just created it as the normal assigned blog page in the wordpress settings it did not work because as you said it did not have an id but all of these pages do have id’s. I appreciate your help in this Ajay. If you can think of anything else I would much appreciate it. Is it an issue of clashing with elementor?

If these are pages, you could try the manual posts option using the meta box at the bottom.
