Chronicbubble, sorry to hear this didn’t work for you.
The purpose of the plugin is to move scripts into the footer – which is one of many possible solutions to render-blocking elements and perceived load times, but may not always be the correct solution for every configuration. This requires some understanding of your site-specific scripts, as well as which elements might be dependent on a specific script being loaded in the head, because not everything works out-of-the-box if you move it into the footer. In fact, that’s why this plugin has filters to allow you to keep certain scripts in the head section.
Further, this plugin does not claim to alter your page insight score (for better or worse) – that’s a more complicated metric reliant on numerous items of your site’s configuration, user interface, responsiveness, et cetera. The drop in your scores, for instance, could be due to jQuery-dependent elements in your page that stopped functioning without jQuery in the header (there’s an option for doing that included with the plugin), or scripts now placed out-of-order because they are not properly enqueued, or some other combination of plugin/theme elements outside the scope of this plugin. I’ve heard numerous reports of increases to these scores after running the plugin. But, again, each site setup is different.
In the future, if you have an issue or find a bug, it’s more helpful to post it in the support forum than post a low review. I would encourage you to try to debug it and verify if it’s a bug or if it’s a conflict related to your site specifically. Checking the “keep jQuery in the head” option might solve your problems, or you might need to dig into your theme/plugin enqueued scripts to find the conflict to place some scripts in the head. Let me know if you find a bug or conflict and I’d be happy to help. And, of course, I’d appreciate a revised review if you find this plugin working for you.
