• (edit:) Great plugin with an easy-to use and good-looking interface. And although it didn’t fully suit my needs at first, the developer responded very quickly and upgraded the plugin.

Looks nice and is easy to use. But, it doesn’t work. After explicitly setting the right options for user and admin receiving e-mails, nothing arrives. Also, the placeholder and value fields are empty every time I go to the edit form page. It just gets reset as soon as a field options panel is displayed..

I seem to have jumped the gun here. Apparently WordPress had some mailing issues..

Anyway, sending the mails works fine. However, I have to say that I don’t like the way the e-mails look. I wouldn’t mind changing the css myself, but since most styles are inline, it’s quite hard to do this. The way it looks by default doesn’t look a way I would want my clients to receive their e-mails as..

Would you consider making a separate css file for all styles, or even better, a more default look for the e-mails?

    Thanks.

    Hi there
Thank you for getting in touch.

There is actually a mail template file that you can change in contact-form-ready/templates/mail_template.html – please let me know if you need help with this. I would be more than happy to help customize the plugin to change this for you.

You originally left your review for the mails not working, would you please consider changing your 2 star review as it seriously negatively affects our plugin in a massive way.

@nickduncan Hey, thanks. I managed to get rid of the black background, but it’s not very easy mainly because the styles are inline. *If* it’s possible to do this in WordPress with a separate css file, I personally think that’d be a lot better.

Also, I found that our company name (the display name of the website?) was shown twice in every e-mail (as a link to the website), but removing the value for this removes both links, as well as the header texts. All that’s left is the table with what was filled in in the contact form.

Finally, if I can suggest something else: The e-mails sent to both me and the person who fills in the form, contain the table displayed as “Fieldname: value” for each field. In my opinion this should not show the field’s name attribute as those cannot have spaces. In other words, it leaves any web developer with limited options.

I’d gladly change my star rating but it doesn’t seem possible.. If it is please tell me how to!

    Cheers

    Thank you for those suggestions!
I will definitely implement better email control and manipulation in the next version!

I believe you can change your rating (when logged in) if you go to https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/contact-form-ready/reviews/ and scroll to the bottom. Please let me know?

Do you still need help with the styling of the emails? I’m here to help if you need it!

Thanks man, I did not expect that to be on the reviews overview page. I adjusted the rating and review.

Perhaps I could use help with one thing, in the plugin’s settings page there is a field Email body (admin) which is shown in both admin and visitor response e-mail. Is it possible to have this shown only in the admin e-mail?

    THANK YOU!!

Ah yes I see this bug. Wow, sorry! It is actually adding the users message to the body section of the admin email. Let me come up with a fix and update the version on WordPress quickly!

OK Version 1.06 is going live now and should be available in a couple minutes.
It should also fix the placeholder bug.

    Please let me know!

    It works well – except for two small bugs;
    1. The placeholder gets saved in admin, but doesn’t show on frontend in <i>textarea</i> fields.
    2. The e-mails are sent successfully but sometimes I get to see the 404 page after submitting the form. I have to find out what it is that causes it, since it looks like some field or value in my form seems to be the culprit.

The first bug is not really urgent for me, but if you could fix these things at some point, this plugin definitely deserves 5 stars ??

    Thanks for the great support!

No problem. Please may you supply me with a link to your contact form so I may debug?

I sent you a link via your website (it’s a test server and I don’t want the URL to be public).

Please confirm you used this page? https://www.contactformready.com/contact-me/ I have not received anything here yet and I have received at least two other enquiries from that page today.

No, I used the chat window in the bottom right corner, but I did send you a mail through this page now.
