• First I could not make it work.
But I had to enable in WP-settings-discussion the standard avatar.

@mahyulan this plugin is active on over 100,000 sites with generally positive reviews so I’m surprised to hear you’re having this problem. Can you share details on your environment (WordPress version, active theme version, active plugins and versions, Simple Local Avatars version) and a screenshot or screencast to demonstrate your issue so we can help troubleshoot for you?

    Hi Jeffrey,

I just changed my review to 5 star.
I had to enable the avatar in the WP-dashboard settings.
    So now it is working.
Maybe you can add comment or a check in the plugin that this setting is necessary.

I actually hoped this setting was not necessary to avoid the gravatar tracker.

Your plugin has the great option to only allow local avatars, but not for the default ones.
Would be great to have a default local avatar as well.
