I was using the HTML syntax highlighter no problem until v2 came out. Now it just doesn’t load at all. The default WP HTML editor loads — even though the syntax highlighter plugin is installed.

I don’t see anything in the PHP error logs on my host, and Chrome dev tools console isn’t showing any javascript errors.

It just doesn’t appear to be loading at all. Any ideas?

  • I have the same problem (but I found some error when I switch between Visual and Text tab). I think 2.0 version may conflict with several plugins. In my case is ACF Code Field and ACF Pro. when I disabled those plugins, HTML Editor Syntax Highlighter will work fine.

Now I suggest to downgrade version is better idea until bug fix version come out.

I was really hoping it would work… but no. Nothing loads at all. All I get is the standard WP editors.

I too have ACF installed, just as BoatKung mentioned.

I’ve tried testing it with ACF installed. still works fine.

does it work if you disable all your plugins except the syntax highlighter?

…or could you try disabling ACF to see if it works then?

what is your OS and browser?

I’m using Chrome on Windows 10 mostly, but it’s the same for other browsers too.

I would attempt to disable some plugins, but this is on a live site with paying customers. ;/

The main plugins I have are:

    1. Easy Digital Downloads
    2. AffiliateWP
    3. ACF
    4. CPT UI
    5. Autoptimize (but HTML only at the moment)
    6. Fancy Admin UI
    7. Nested Pages
    8. Ninja Forms
    9. SearchWP

There’s more… but I had a hunch maybe it was Fancy Admin UI. I did disable that, but still not HTML syntax highlighter. ??

    Thanks!

I don’t know if it matters… I’m hosting on Pressidium – a managed WordPress provider.

I’d love to get this working again since I use A LOT of HTML in my posts, the formatting and colors really helped.

    Thank you!

I have the same problem since the latest update.

    I’m on a staging site on wpengine.com.

Using Chrome latest version on Windows 7 x64.

    Don’t have many plugins installed.

Happy to help test, if you want.
