    Referrers can be spoof and remove before going to your site.

    I know that. They were still getting through FROM those sites directly. And I just didn’t want to see the names of them in my referral list.

    I removed the plug-in and did it through the .htaccess file

    I would recommend that as well if you have problems with the plugin. In fact banning uses from htaccess uses less resources than bnning them using the plugin.
