    Hi,
    every WordPress theme (especially those of the official repository) are compatible with shortcode.
    I tested Cubic theme on a local setup with success.

    It looks like you have a plugin / mu-plugin / custom PHP functions that blocked shortcode rendering.

    Disable all your plugins except WP Cloudy and see if it works.
