Since awesome extension called Infinite Scroll hasn’t been updated since few years, I’m trying to find a more recent alternative. This is how I stumbled upon WordPress Infinite Scroll – Ajax Load More. Unfortunately, this extension doesn’t seem to work. The old plugin still works well, the new one isn’t. Hmmm…. Do I miss something?

I’m writing here because I don’t want to give it a 1-star review without trying to solve it.

OK, I found out that for it to make it work, I need to add [ajax_load_more] to the site. Weird, because the old plugin just works globally when I activate it so I don’t have to worry about it, but oh well… I added [ajax_load_more] to my shop site and the result was:

    – on shop site on the top, it loaded posts above categories/products… WTF?
    – still no infinite scrolling when I get to the archive of products (there is no actual page for that so I have no idea how could I add [ajax_load_more] to it).

So far it looks useless :(.

    Hi @michaldybczak,
I have a Woocommerce example set up here – https://connekthq.com/plugins/ajax-load-more/examples/woocommerce/

Ajax Load More does not work like the other Infinite Scroll plugin – it requires a shortcode and repeater template be set up as seen in all the examples on the website.

Im currently in the process of writing a blog posts outlining exactly how to edit product and product archive pages.

When you view the examples, at the bottom of each page is a link to the updated Woocommerce page template.

    https://examples.connekthq.com/woocommerce/product-category/test-category/

This will require some development knowledge.

Thanks for explanations. I don’t have enough development knowledge thou to pull it off and no enough time to get it. I guess I was looking for a simple solution like Infinite Scrolling. I decided to leave Infinite Scrolling for now since it’s still working well and not listed (nor its code) as vulnerable.

I will then refrain on writing a review on your plugin.

Maybe in time I will check on those articles and then implement it. We’ll see.

    Thanks ??

Sounds good. Let me know if you change your mind and I can guide you – WooCommerce templating system actually makes it fairly straight forward so long as your theme doesn’t have overly complicated custom templates.

    Cheers,
