• Seems like a great program, but created 404’s out of all my buddypress notifications, messages, etc.

    Hello,

That is actually a bug with BuddyPress plugin. See this post.

BuddyPress actually creates a 404 then redirects. But there is a workaround for this issue. Just put the buddypress page slugs to the exclude paths option. Then it will not be considered as 404.

    Thanks for the quick feedback!

I didn’t have any 404 errors before the install of your program though, so if it’s a bug – it’s a hidden bug that only came out when trying your plugin. Perhaps you should state on your main description it does not work with Buddypress.

    Thanks!

No. It DOES WORK with BuddyPress, if you set buddypress slugs in exclude paths option. You will not get 404 errors without using 404 error monitors. Because BuddyPress creates 404 errors, then redirects from there. So use won’t be able to see 404 error. But when you use our plugin, we catch that 404 error. That is why we have an option to exclude paths.

Let me know if you have any doubts.

PS: I will be implementing this as an automatic task soon.

None of the links gave me 404 errors at all prior to your plugin installation, but did once your plugin was installed. Actually, it brought down most of my buddypress based community until I had a chance to turn off your plugin. My inbox was full this morning of people unable to navigate.

If the buddypress pages are not giving 404’s before your plugin is installed, how can this be buddypress’s fault? Isn’t instead your buddypress revision you recommend so that your plugin can read things and work correctly in a buddypress environment?

    Sorry for the inconvenience BlueDot.

I will let you know once that feature is live ??

This issue has been fixed. Please update to latest version of the plugin.

You can now optionally set custom redirects for each 404 pages in latest version.
