    Hi,
I’ve been using TDIH without any issue for a year or two. When the events just stopped displaying in the widget, I made some tests. I noticed that the events I have automatically imported into my website (using All Import) just refuse to appear. Is there a better way to import thousands of events from a XLSX/CSV file?
    Thanks!

It is possible to bulk import events – I have done this myself. If you follow the process detailed on my site, here:-

then you should have no issues.

I have used the plugin over several years, and I have imported successfully in the past with the Really Simple CSV Importer. For this new site I have a couple of thousand to import, so I set up a test with 12 events. I struggled for a while getting the import to run – declaring that tdih_event was an invalid post_type. Ultimately I solved this by copying the underscore from the example set, and then it did import. However although the screen now says that there are 13 items, none are showing. If I search for something I know has been imported the count at the top tells me it is there, however nothing is showing. Now even when I add one manually the count goes up but still nothing is showing.

I’ve not had any issue although I’ve not done it recently. Nothing has changed with TDIH so it is best to check with the Really Simple CSV Importer folks – these are just posts with a custom type so there is nothing special going on.

OK. I dived into the database and found that the dates (post titles) had been imported badly, so resolved those issues and now it does seem to be working. The Really Simple CSV importer has not been updated for three years and has not been tested with the last three versions of WordPress. I think it may be wordpress that has changed rather than the importer.

I have something of the order of a thousand records to import, and the only other importer I saw had reviews good enough to make me run away.

Thank you for your help and for a great plugin.
