Ran the package build, downloaded the zip and installer.

Ran the install on the new server, all good, except WordPress is looking for everything (plugins, themes, etc.) in wp-content. In the install that the package was built from, wp-content had been changed to ‘assets’.

Not sure why this piece isn’t working. I tried running the install again, looking for somewhere to specify, but no luck. Please help if you know what’s happening here – thanks!

  • Hey @brentoage,

That is odd… I haven’t heard of that before. You might double check your wp-config.php or your functions.php to see if there is a directive that is causing it to read from a different location…

    Hope that helps~

I’m running into the same issues regarding themes and plugins in a renamed wp-content folder but weirdly not upload files such as images, which show up fine. In wp admin there are no themes or plugins, which are actually there on the server so they were copied over just as they were previously

Additionally of i attempt to upload a theme i get this error message
“Unable to create directory uploads/2017/01. Is its parent directory writable by the server?”
    permissions are 755

wp-config is clearly pointing to renamed folder and no conflicts that i have found.

The folder name change was done as part of iThemes security plugin process. I have several sites to move so really hoping there is a solution to this as i run security set up on all sites when i create them.

    Thanks for any pointers
