I do like Freesoul a lot, but I’ve found that it does not work when a WP GLOBUS language page includes a shortcode. Simply put, the shortcode doesn’t render.

The content for the page is very simple, and like this:

    <p>[my_plugin]</p>

When I have the default language showing in WP GLOBUS the plugin renders. When I click to another language then the plugin does not render and on the page it displays thus:

    [my_plugin]

Is there some kind of setting I can change which might make a difference here? At the moment I have to deactivate Freesoul to make the site display properly which is a major shame.

    Hi @arathra

    Thank you!

I’ve right now tested WP Globus 2.8.5 with Freesoul Deactivate Plugins 1.8.8.9.3 and it works for me on the translated pages.
Just to be sure, I suppose you mean this plugin: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wpglobus/, right?

Can you confirm you have the same versions of the plugins?

    Hi Jose,

    Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I have Freesoul Version 1.8.8.9.3 and WP Globus Version 2.8.5. The only other plugin on the site is “my_plugin” which just returns a simple test string. (In the active site it does much more of course.)

You can see the issue here on our development site where the ONLY active plugins are Freesoul, “myplugin”, and WPGlobus: https://tinyurl.com/56a3bjwh – with the language set to English (flag in the top menu) it’s fine; in any other language it just shows the raw shortcode.

    Hi @arathra

    thank you for the information.

In your case, it doesn’t work because it’s a child page.

WP Globus translates the page without serving a different page. Normally, plugins for translations manage the translations with different pages which you find in the FDP settings. In this case, you find only the original page in the settings and the translated ones have the same page ID as the original page, but because you have the language code in the URL, FDP didn’t find the right settings. It is able to do it only for non-child pages.

Please, try version 1.8.8.9.4 that should fix this conflict with WP Globus. It’s not public, but you can download it with this link: https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/freesoul-deactivate-plugins.1.8.8.9.4.zip

Let me know if it fixes this issue.

Hi Jose, so far it’s looking very good. It appears to work well – I’ll test it some more on this site but so far so good.

Thanks so much for this; Freesoul is a great plugin which has helped page loading times a LOT!

    Thanks again! ??
