DoFollow links in WordPress

    From what I understand, the comments section of WordPress, by default, uses the NoFollow attribute.

    What I’m wondering is- are ALL links that are added to WordPress, automatically given the NoFollow attribute, or is it ONLY the links in the comments section?

    I ask because, I’ve linked to one of my websites (in the footer.php template) on 18 other sites, but Google’s not finding those backlinks. Do I need to add a DoFollow attribute to those links in order for Google to pick them up?
