Dollar to Pound currency price is incorrect

I noticed that on my site, an item I’ve set to cost ￡45 is showing as $44.99 or similar.
When I go into woocommerce settings and click multicurrency settings i can see that the automatic rate for pounds to dollars says this:
“Current rate: 1 USD = 1 GBP (Last updated: j0 April 2023 5:27 pm)”
Why?
The current rate should be 1 USD = 0.81 GBP, and I’m not sure why the date says ‘j0 April’.
