The paths to the images are hard coded in the database.

You could try this plugin – https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/search-and-replace/
and look for the old path and replace them with the new or if you don’t have many instances of this happening, just do them one by one, by editing the html of the posts.

Review Moving_WordPress. Specifically, you will need to replace all reference to the old domain with the new domain in your database.
