• I have a bunch of domains that I am looking to map together using WordPress MU. I have gone through the installation process for MU and can see a “my sites” and admin tab. Currently, when I try to go to “Domain Mapping: Domains” and add any of my other domains, nothing happens. No warming, nothing. I’ve set up my names servers to be the same as my main MU website and I’m pretty sure I correctly set up the A Name. I’m using netfirms and (Host: MYDomain.com is pointing to the correct IP. And A is pointing to the correct IP. mx is not, should it be?)

Although it may be related, if I put the domain_mapping.php file in mu-plugins, the entire website goes “white” and I have to remove or rename the file in my ftp to have any access to my website.

    Any help would be appreciated!

Removing domain_mapping.php from wordpress-mu-domain-mapping fixed the “White screen” problem.

When I go to sour.com it displays the index.html page uploaded to the sour.com server on my ftp, not the sour.sweet.com page I’d ultimately want.

Then you did that wrong. You weren’t supposed to make a sour.com server setup on FTP.

Mapping a domain and creating an account on a server for the domain are two totally different things. Forget the plugin for now, since we need to help you get your domain name ‘parked’ first.

How did you ‘add’ sweet.com to your server?

My cpanel doesn’t have any “parked” feature, but instead a

“Here you can add your existing (already registered / transferred) domains.”

I plug in the domain name, and after a few hours the dns updates. In this case I plug in sweet.com, a file is created on my hosts server /home/www/sweet.com and I upload files to that server. I did the same for sour.com but in that case, instead of uploading wordpress, uploaded an index.html file.

Do I need to delete the folder on my hosts server to get this to work?

I can’t even find out what the heck AttractZetta Panel is….

It SOUNDS like what you did was make an ‘add on’ domain (I did that myself elsewhere, as there are reasons you’d want to).

    Domain ‘parking’ doesn’t make a folder…

Can you ask your host if you’re even allowed to park domains, and if so, can THEY help you?

What do I want parked? Sweet.com (My main domain with wordpress), or sour.com, or both?

sweet.com is fine, please don’t mess with it ??

sour.com needs to be ‘parked’ on top of sweet.com, so that WITHOUT domain mapping, if you try to go to sour.com it shows you sweet.com’s content.

Again. ASK YOUR HOST how to do it on your server. Every set up is a little different, and sometimes they like to use terminology in new and inventive ways.

I asked my host and they said that they can’t park domains either. Soooooo, it might be time to move these websites onto a new host.
