    Hi there

I have multisite installed on domain https://negativeequityhomesales.co.uk.

    I did a site for a friend: negativeequityhomesales.co.uk/ashtanga-yoga-glasgow/

She obviously doesn’t want my property domain in there so I used the domain mapping plugin to map it to https://ashtangayogaglasgow.co.uk/ for her which worked a treat.

    Or so I thought!

Having optimised it for her, her site now appears on page 1 of Google for her main search term *but* it appears as:

    negativeequityhomesales.co.uk/ashtanga-yoga-glasgow/

    Which is not good!

Is there any way I can fix this?

Thanks for any help you can give!

    John

Thanks for that. Tried changing that to the new domain but that resulted in the site not being displayed at all and negativeequityhomesales.co.uk being displayed instead.

I changed it back but it is still displaying negativeequityhomesales.co.uk!

This is now officially a nightmare!

Any other suggestions (even just how to get it back to the way it was) gratefully accepted!

    Thanks

OK, managed to get site displaying again.

    Original problem persists…

[I just noticed that there are other tabs in the Super Admin > Sites > Edit section… I have tried changing random bits but TBH I don’t know which one I’m meant to be changing to which.]

Did you set it up as the primary domain? Don’t you DARE “Super Admin > Sites > Edit” to ‘fix’ it. You will break things like you don’t even wanna know.

    Hi there

As far as I can tell, negativeequityhomesales.co.uk is the primary domain and I have no wish to change it…

There’s a checkbox for primary domain.

Anyway, looks like your menu has the old links: https://negativeequityhomesales.co.uk/ashtanga-yoga-glasgow/massage

How did you make that menu?

    This is fixed now.

I can’t even remember everything I did but the main problem was that the domain name was hosted by a different company to the one hosting the site. So I moved the name to the site host and now it works.

    Thanks.

And yes, I still need to update the footer menu links — thanks for the reminder.
