I’ve successfully mapped domains to WP MU subdomains using parked (pointer) domains.

However, I need to use a secondary domain (instead of a parked domain) for custom email accounts, according to my host Nexcess.

[Nexcess tech support, btw, has not been helpful.]

So, when I create a secondary domain to send supercool.com to supercool.mysite.com, one of two things happens:

    1. supercool.com is just a Nexcess holding page, not my WP MU site.

    2. If I turn on .htaccess in Siteworx, it gets stuck in a forwarding loop between supercool.com and supercool.mysite.com.

    Suggestions? Hints? Tips?

    All would be greatly appreciated.

That’s probably true… I know with cpanel, you can use email with a parked domain, but not always with other hosts.

When you made supercool.com, where did you tell it its html root was?

I didn’t: Nexcess made the problem worse before I could find out where to use for the html root.

Nexcess did solve the problem, and I’m waiting to hear how they did it so I can post the solution on this thread.

Someone at Nexcess made a “sym-link” pointed to the correct directory via my ssh user.

(I don’t understand it, but I know what to ask for next time.)
