Domain name change after migration

    We used Updraft migrater to migrate the website to a new location. The migration was successful, but now we need to point our new domain name to the new location.

    Will this break everything? What steps need to be taken in WordPress to point the new domain name?

    Hi,

    If you are moving to a new location/URL the UpdraftPlus free version won’t work. It will only work if you are moving your site to the same URL. If it is a different URL, you will need UpdraftPlus Migrator add-on so all old URL will be changed with the new URL.

    I used the paid version of Migrator. It worked as expected, but now I need to change the domain name.

    My question refers to the steps in WordPress that need to be taken to avoid issue when changing a domain name?
