Domain name is redirected to blogspot & I want to play around with WordPress

I’ve got my own domain name and at the moment it’s linked to my blogspot-site. I’m trying to install wordpress at my hosting provider but I’m stuck after transfering the wp-files with ftp to my domain name. If I go to my domain name trying to log in with wordpress I get a message om my website that says ‘can’t find the page you’re looking for’. I don’t want to lose the redirect to my blogspot, because I don’t want to lose visitors while I’m playing around with WordPress and trying to make a new website. I don’t want to transfer my blogspot to wordpress at the moment, but in the future, after I’m statisfied with the new look.

I would assume it’s possible to develop my new website on wordpress and in the meantime keeping my website online.

Does anybody know if it’s possible to have a redirect to blogspot and using a wordpress site on the same domain name? I’ve been told the problem is the dns-redirect.
