• Hi all!

Firstly, I’d like to apologise if I’ve posted this question in the wrong forum area.

Basically, I’ve recently bought a co.uk domain via 123-Reg. I have configured things so that everything works okay when my domain is entered without the www (e.g. domain.co.uk on its own) and my blog appears without any problems.

However, I’d like my WordPress blog to appear if I typed the FULL domain itself, e.g. https://www.domain.co.uk. I cannot seem to do this. When I enter the full address, I arrive at a screen which reads ‘This domain has been registered for a 123-reg customer’.

I have done a little digging and have discovered that WordPress automatically removes the www from the address bar. I was wondering whether there was a way that I could enter my full domain (complete with preceding www) and arrive at the same page as I do had I entered just the domain.co.uk.

I have checked with the domain provider and can confirm that I have a three year ownership of the full (www included) domain. Any advice/guidance would be most welcomed and I hope I have explained my problem in an understandable way!

    Cheers!

    Dennis

  • Go to Settings->General->WordPress address (URL)/Blog address (URL)

    change from https://domain.co.uk into https://www.domain.co.uk

note: you can’t access your site with www prefix due (maybe) you do not set site redirect (via .htaccess/php/cname) into non-www address.

    that’s as far i know.

    Hello Sir,

Thanks for your reply. I’ve had a look at Settings>General and there’s nothing about the WordPress URL/Blog address.

Any other suggestions? Does my issue lie with WordPress or with the domain supplier?

    Cheers

    Dennis
