• Using W3TC with MAXCDN and 5 custom domains, I have seen that all contents from the wp-content/uploads directory are placed on one custom domain (cdn5) on MAXCDN. Since I have a lot pictures, the performance testing tools always suggest to ‘parallelize downloads’.
My question: Is there any possibility with W3TC to split the uploaded photos over two or three of the custom domains on the CDN? Or otherwise do you know another tool that can help to do this job?

  • Is this question still relevant?

I set up my wordpress site to load all (existing and new) uploads from a subdomain.

Let me know if I can help!

Thanks for your reply. At the moment I have solved the problem with WP Photon, that takes all pictures that I exclude from the CDN.
Generally I am still very interested to split the uploaded pictures on the CDN. I am using maxcdn with five custom domains. Unfortunately all pictures are served from cdn5… There is no option to change that. I would like to use the other custom domains too to enable parallelized downloads. Unfortunately nobody, maxcdn support included, knows a solution for the problem.
