• I am about to install a theme ex: abc.com. The client wants one of the navigation links to go to another domain ex: xyz.com. But, I don’t want to have to do multiple installations or have another admin area. Also, we can use the same theme for both abc and xyz and just change the page design a bit for xyz. Is this possible? Would the multisite plugin be my best option? Should I just do multiple installations and install the same theme twice?

  • Hey there,

You said you didn’t really want multiple installations or admin areas.

What about domain mapping on a single install like:

    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/domain-mapping-system/

This allows you to map domains to a specific page/post. If this works for you then it means you wouldn’t need a multisite install or multiple separate installs.

    Hope this helps.

    Have a great day!

    Multisite is not a plugin.

Multisite creates multiple, separate, sites within one install of the core WordPress files. This gives you one place to log in and upgrade, while having separate admin areas.
