• I have domain.com with Windows Hosting. I installed WordPress 4.1 without errors. Any page or post I create goes through successfully and gets listed on the front page. However, when you click on the links, the pages are not there. I went into the system and the pages are actually not getting created under the wp-content folder. I get no errors on the dashboard indicating anything is wrong with WordPress. Domain.com has not been helpful.

    Anyone has had this issue?

    Thanks in advance.

    Nor should they be ??

All pages, posts, settings, etc. are stored in and retrieved from the database. There are NO user-generated pages/files created by WordPress.

Have you enabled Permalinks? If so, what is the setting? Windows hosting handles these differently and I am not up to speed on that aspect. Perhaps a search of the forum for ‘Windows hosting pages not showing’ will turn up some answers.

BTW, any particular reason for Windows instead of the preferred Linux hosting? One does not need to know anything about Linux to use that for the hosting environment ??

Thanks for the response Lyle. Turns out it was the permalink as you suggested. I picked one of the default ones instead of a custom and now things are working okay.

I’m completely new to WordPress. I’m actually a Windows Admin and figured it would be easier to manage. However, I didn’t know the server management was all web-based, at least of Domain.com.

I would change it to Linux, but initially I had a Unix account, and for them to change it to Windows we had to close my account and open a new one and deal with a bunch BS because they don’t have a clean way of doing any of this. Their support sometimes leaves angry for hours.
