You could but honestly, please don’t. Really. ??

If you want to increase awareness why not consider writing a blog post on your site? (If you do, don’t share it here.)

    Hi @jdembowski

You could but honestly, please don’t.

Why? Is there any problem or violation of WordPress guidelines?

For a couple of reasons. First this:

Can I put a WordPress donate link on my website and redirect that link

Why redirect? That’s (and I am not judging you! Honest!) is some dodgy behavior used by some dodgy people in the past.

If you want to plainly put a link on your site to go to the donate page, feel free.

If you wand to do some redirection, please don’t. It’s a tracking tactic that has been abused in the past.

Second reason: I’m confident that the WordPress Foundation does not need a fund raiser. ?? But if you want to write about WordPress, if you want to share on your site (not here) how it’s benefited you and others then that may be more effective.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. Actually I also mean to plainly put a link on the site to go to the donate page.

    Thanks for the information. ??
