• So here’s my problem. I recently rebuilt my site and a misconfiguration error in aio seo means that I now have about 550 indexed pages rather than about 40.

Ive fixed the issue and I’ve submitted a new sitemap obviously but still have hundreds of indexed pages. My main problem is google keep using these as sitelinks which returns a 404.

This makes my company look bad, increases my bounce rate, etc.

I need to get these deindexed asap.

So I came across this plugin and wondered will using the wildcard https://mysite.com/* mean that every 404 page will instead result in a 410? I need to get these deindexed asap.

People have reported 404 pages being indexed 6mths after submitting new sitemap etc and I cant wait that long.

So I need to make every 404 a 410 and hope these get removed from search results asap. Adding these manually would take ages but need to be sure of the wildcard to serve, and to make sure I’ve done it right within your plugin. Also that it won’t have issues with wp rocket or other adverse effects.

A result of advice that ends up in these being deindexed by end of month will result in a donation.
