Donation list skipping numbers

    Hi,

    When viewing the donations tab the numbered list of donations are being skipped.

    For example:

    1216 by ****
    ***@email.com

    1214 by ****
    ****@email.com

    and other, larger, skips like:

    1182 by ****
    ****@email.com

    1135 by ****
    ****@email.com

    My client and I are both perplexed by this issue and I haven’t come across anyone talking about this or any info in the documentation.

    Please advise.

  • Hi there,

    It appears your Give installation doesn’t have sequential ordering turned on.

    Navigate to Donations >> Settings >> General (tab) >> Sequential Ordering, and be sure that it’s set to enabled.

    What is currently happening on your site is your donation ID’s are being set as a WordPress post ID. Anytime something is created (not just donations) a new ID is formed. This can result in large gaps in your donation ID’s and is why our team developed Sequential Ordering to prevent this from happening.

    Once you set the number your donation ID’s are to start at it will increment by one every time a donation is recorded.
