• Hi David
I have been collecting donations for a few weeks with no problems
A couple of days ago someone donated the same amount to 3 funds, one after the other. 2 were fine, however, one (the second of 3) failed to hit wp_posts in the database. It did pass through the ‘seamless_donations_paypal_ipn_processing_complete’ hook. I assume this occurs after the database is updated? There was no notification email for this transaction. Paypal sent a notification though and the money accepted.
Subsequent donations have gone through fine.
Can you think of a mechanism of how this might happen
    Regards
    Michael

It’s possible PayPal held it up if it thought it was a spurious donation.

    No
I did receive an email from paypal for the donation just not from plugin.
I checked the ipn log in paypal and the transaction is shown as sent.
What is the consequence of resending the ipn?

    Hi David
Bit the bullet and resent the ipn from paypal
This time the post was created in website and all good

No idea why this did not occur when the donation was first created. Hopefully the last time it happens. I will keep an eye on it

    Hi again
It has happened again. Certainly not every transaction. Error below

I have stuck with 4.0.14 as only a few more days until the end of this event and reluctant to rock the boat. Part of the problem?

Strange and fortunate it is infrequent

Again, resending the ipn from paypal worked

Well, I did a lot of compatibility improvements since 4.0.14, so hanging back could be an issue. The error is that your server isn’t able to find PayPal, which makes some sense since you’re using a version of Seamless Donations prior to the PayPal compatibility change.

I certainly can’t guarantee it will get better (or even not get worse) if you update, but I can tell you that PayPal has changed its requirements, Seamless Donations updated to meet those requirements, and you’re using a version prior to all that.

You throws your dice and you takes your chances.
