• I Nico,

So it’s been a year, has this guy donated? https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/dashboard-notice-showing-for-all-admins?replies=5

In my install there’s no “dismiss” option, so the notice can not be removed, maybe a bug? Or did you change that? If users could dismiss I would consider that option as more than fair!

Anyway, I’m trying to build a WP network to provide websites to other photographers, illustrators, filmmakers… so I’d like them not to see the notice, mostly because they will probably think it’s from me. You might want to change the notice to: Thank you from Nico, the plugin author.

Is there a way to globally remove the notice? And how much donation would you require to provide this option.

BTW, please consider me as a beta tester, I would love to help out as much as I can. I can’t code but I’m great with UI/UX suggestions. I’ve tested several plugins, I enjoy the process.

Thanks again for the great work!

There are two notices, one is displayed on the dashboard (no matter where you are there) after the plugin is installed for 1 week, this one should have a dismiss link.

Then there is the almost same notice on the top of the options page, that one does not have a dismiss message. I guess you mean that one. Why? Because I thought on the options page its not really bothering anyone since they should rarely open it, and beeing reminded of this every time you edit the options is a good thing for me and not really intrusive IMO. But I never tought of your case.

I am thinking of a pro version of this plugin. There I could provide a options to remove it. I would not require anyone to buy this who already donated. Or I just provide this as a hidden option for a few guys like you lets see.

I maybe could actually build a email list of the donators and then read the emails from the corrent account browsing the dashboard to remove the notice for donors but thats just to much and to complicated and would only work for paypal donations since I get the email of people there I think, not for bitcoin and other stuff I might setup later. Also this would not fix your problem since your users will not have a account what has a email that donated … I could maybe read the admin email … anyway I pass on that one since I not really like this approach.

    After thinking about it …

Why should people think that this message is form you? Do you really think this is such a big deal? Because I think you are over-thinking it. I could just change the message and include “This is Nico the Author of the ARVE plugin” or something like that so nobody can get confused by this message. Yes I will to this either way, what do you think?
