Donations Never Showed Up in PayPal from Give Plugin

    I have the Give – Donation Plugin installed on my WordPress website. The plugin Donations shows 56 transactions (53 Completed/3 Failed) 38 transactions showed up in PayPal (36 Completed/2 Failed). I would like to know why the other 18 transactions didn’t show up in PayPal? And, why did the plugin show 3 transactions as failed even though 2 of them showed up in PayPal? Give – Donation Plugin total is $1,040 – $730 that showed up in PayPal = $310 that never showed up in PayPal. (-$5 for 1 Failed that didn’t show up in PayPal = $305).

    I’m happy to shed some light here.

    In order for a donation to be marked as complete on GiveWP’s side of the equation, one of two things has happened: either it went through to PayPal correctly, or it was manually added to the site using something like our manual donations add-on. Alternatively, it could have manually been changed from pending to complete on the GiveWP site.

    Manually changing the status on GiveWP has no bearing on the reality of what happened at PayPal.

    It’s fairly normal for donations on PayPal standard to be left in pending status, that’s an indication that the donor didn’t complete the donation process on PayPal’s side.     As for the discrepancy, I am assuming that you or someone else marked otherwise incomplete/pending donations as complete, or something like that. A better method is to follow up with those potential donors to make sure they still intend to give.
