Donor Wall subscriptions/recurring payments?

The donor wall is programmed to only show the initial donation of a recurring donation. In a site with multiple recurring donations, the donor wall could fill up pretty quickly with seemingly duplicate donations.

Well, shouldn’t you allow your customers to make that decision?

Could what you describe as donor wall filling up with duplicates in fact be an essential way to recognize a donation and a donor? And how is recurring payment a duplicate?

Please do consider making this important change allowing websites and customers to make that choice instead of decisions for them on essential features like that.

We’re always happy to clarify.

The way the GiveWP’s donor wall works with the recurring donations is by generating a parent donation and children donations, linked to the parent one. If we display that you the donor wall, it would mean that you’d have the same donor, for the same donation form, with the same donation amount – it means that you’d have duplicated data.

In addition, there have been very few requests for adding this new option for the donor wall, so, although it looks like an essential feature for you, it looks like it’s not an essential feature for all the users in the WordPress community.

I’ll take note of this and pass the suggestion to our development team, but this is not something we are aiming to change in the near future.

Same donor and same amount does not mean it is a duplicate. It means you got a great donor making multiple donations and that needs to be cherished and recognized.
