Don't Bother

Nop, It’s probably great if you’re starting your site from scratch, but is no help for all the media already in your library. DON’T BOTHER.

Well, rush. Maybe a 1 star isn’t the right thing here. You have a specific use case that doesn’t apply to everyone.
If you didn’t like how your files are organized in the month / date folders then MLP is terrific. And if that wasn’t an issue you don’t need our product.
BTW, did you try using our sync function? Might have helped you get up and running fast and with our new drag and drop interface you can organize your folders/files with ease.
A 1 star is very hurtful to an early plugin especially one that a lot of other folks really like. Please think about raising your rating.
Best,
Bob
Look, this wasn’t a “read” towards you … I’m just telling it as the way I experienced it. Now forgive me if this post hurts your feelings, it wasn’t my intention. All I did was say my truth, as I see it.
I did use the sync. In fact I read every info I could find, some from this site, and some from other sites. Even YouTube. (Which there’s not a lot of) And still once installed, I couldn’t access anything that was already in my media library. Even with sync. From what I saw, I had to re-upload everything in the site. (And that’s a lot)
Maybe if there were more simplified explanations on how to use it, or maybe a YouTube video done by you explaining in detail with visual for situations like mine or others. If you did that and put it on the download page, like:
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/soliloquy-lite/Then I promise to retract my statement personally with a post and raise the rating. In fact, if you tell me you will do that, I promise I’ll wait before looking for another plugin and try yours again.
Lets be honest the reason for WordPress is to help people create websites more quickly and easily. It should be the same for all the plugins that can come with it.
Best,
RushWell, then start by opening a support ticket and Alan will get you straightened out, Rush.
We are reworking the Getting Started video and our Media Library Plus page on our site that is linked to from the description. We’re also working at putting the Getting Started video in the installation section.
Since we were heads down on our UI update we had not gotten to it. But we’ll get it cleaned up in the next couple days.
Ok. put in a support ticket and we’ll get you and up running.
Bob
Should i reinstall it first ? then ask for help ?
*Drinks coffee*
You should consider posting a support topic if you’ve got a problem with this plugin and want to use it.

Leaving a 1 star review is fine but if you’re not serious about trying this plugin then what’s the point?
If you are serious (and that would be cool) then, yeah a support topic is the best place to have that conversation.
Reinstall it and open up a support ticket please.
Thanks Jan.
We have updated the MLP getting started guide and include a video that we plan to include in the repository. It is available at this page https://maxgalleria.com/media-library-plus/.
Look, Just went though your video which I had to download (???), I read the entire page (https://maxgalleria.com/media-library-plus/), reinstalled it, ended up with a mess of other folders, that were completely unnecessary, tried moving the files around to one location so I can create my own folders and place my files the way I see fit for me, in my own website but couldn’t.
I’m sorry to say, this is really not what people are asking for when it comes to folder management. All they want is a plugin that lets you go into your media library, create a folder, and put whatever files they want in it. THAT’S ALL. No extra sub folders like dates, tags, or meta data … just SIMPLE. This is what your header says. (Easier file and folder management for WordPress Media Library for Galleries and Albums)
I’m sorry to say but my rating stands as is.
To Jan Dembowski:
If any, I’ve been working on this for 6 days before writing my post and rating. I’ve even tried it again and again, did plenty of research, looked though other avenues, and have no problem, NOT ONE, to call myself out if I made any mistakes.I WANT THIS TO BE CLEAR, I’m not out to “read” anyone, I just call it the way I see it and this opinion is mine only to own. Now if that offends some people, that’s their issue, not mine.
The reason why I went from HTML/CSS to wordpress, is so I can make it easier for me to keep track, update, and link to all my social media. And it’s the reason why a lot of people switch to wordpress. To make it easier to work their websites.
Now if it takes 4 to 6 actions to create 1 outcome, to me that is not productive. If that works for you, then great. I’m glad it does. But I refuse to change my views just because one feel it’s unjust.
The best to all of you, but after all the effort I’ve put in and all the other comments I’ve read, I personally will pass on this plugin, and can not recommend it.
Just send an email to alan at maxfoundry dot com. we’ll get you straightened out.
