Don’t Display Events that are Fully Booked

You could try and use one of the conditional placeholders “{has_spaces}content{/has_spaces}” that checks if the events still has space available.

Thank you! That will definitely accomplish the first part. Doesn’t look like the second will be possible, however, even with nesting (at least not on a list that shows events from more than one category).

{has_spaces}{has_category_X}Show Event in Category X with tickets available{/has_category_x}{/has_spaces}

To use multi-levelled conditions, add this to your wp-config.php (above the /* Happy Blogging */ comment).
define( 'EM_CONDITIONAL_RECURSIONS',4);
