Don’t fix what’s not broken

  • The new block widget area is HORRIBLE. Just installed this with much relief to see it’s been restored to the original. Have not actually used it yet, so let’s hope there are no errors/issues while working. I have to say though, WHY the need to completely change the widgets area at all?? When what’s been working for many years for millions of people is still working JUST FINE? I’m quick to leave this review because I was pretty pissed when I went to get work done today and was met with a new interface. Stop changing things on a whim, I never got any heads up the widget area was going to have a makeover. It really messes up workflow and efficiency for those of us on a schedule with our sites. I don’t appreciate the inconvenience and SURPRISE of that.. but I DO appreciate the creators of this plugin.. saved the day!

    I never got any heads up the widget area was going to have a makeover.

    I wanted to ask how would you be open to receive such “heads up” notifications?

    – WordPress Admin notifications in the affected areas?
    – A dashboard notification?
    – A dashboard widget?
    – Other ideas?
