  • Can you see the plugins at all? Is the site part of a Multi-Site? only super admins can control plugins on a Multi-site.

I can see the plugins, just no option to update them. It is not part of a multi-site and i have admin privilige. Also i do not see something in wp-config that can block updates.

Maybe they don’t need updating ;-)? What are you seeing? That might help.
I don’t see anything about updating if there is not an update available.
Sorry, would help to see what you are seeing maybe?

Okay so here i got a picture of a part of the plugin page https://i.imgur.com/kXf8U8V.jpg.

Plugin post notif version 1.0.5 actual current version 1.3.0
Plugin social media version 1.7.2 current version 1.8.2
Plugin wordpress importer 0.6.1 current version 0.6.3

These are just examples theres a lot more of these.

Thanks. Had to rule out some obvious things.

It has been suggested to run the health check plugin
    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/health-check/
it could possibility flag what the issue is.

It sounds very much like the original Dev might have turned them off manually, maybe even in core files (image that!).

So i got ftp acces now but somehow this is almost empty. Nothing like i am used to see how is this possible? Theres two parts in there private and public. Private just has some logs and stats and public has cgi-bin, sites and tmp with only tmp that has some files in it but all just sess files

I would contact the host at this point. Sounds like you have some restrictive install with limited permission.

hum. Can you talk to the host at all?
