Don't Know How to Customize Search Results

  • Great Plugin Hands Down!
    Is there a way to limit search results to just the linked “Title” and a short summary of Post content or even just the linked Titles alone? (Similar to Google’s search results) Current results throw in each entire page and when there are many results the results page becomes very long and unwieldy. (Pagination, if it should exist as an option, doesn’t appear and doesn’t work) Some pages which are found even are designed to automatically start playing an MP3 upon opening so there’s a roomful of dozens of MP3’s playing at once! Secondarily, I can’t afford to have site visitors cause the database queries/hour limit exceeded because of these kind of search results. (The whole site will shut down for an hour)

    I tried every type of search results configuration combinations but I’d get nothing but a long list of pages, each fully rendered and displayed.

    Yes,
    depend on what result template you use.
    If it was default result template, then you will need to customize your theme search.php.
    If it was Ajax result, then you can use ‘uwpqsf_result_tempt’ filter hook.
    Of course you will need some php knowledge to do this.
