Don't know where to install code for my favorite widget

I have my blog hosted through bluehost. I’m trying to add “my favorite widget” from amazon. I am not an associate. We’re not allowed in Illinois because of tax reasons. Amazon said you could still add this widget. I’m an author and wanted to post my books for sell next to my blog going down the sidebar. I am not sharp with code. Actually, I can’t figure out where to paste the code for the widget. I created the widget and have the code, but can’t find a place to paste it to.
