  • That’s right – have a look at the FAQ for more info:

I’m a theme developer; how can I make my theme Eventbrite-optimized?

Assuming your theme is based on Underscores, most of the work is already done for you. Just load the theme, and compare your markup to that of the plugin’s included templates. Make your own copies, adjusting the markup as needed, and then assign your templates in an add_theme_support call. Most themes can be done in under ten minutes. More details can be found at the Eventbrite API GitHub repo.

Just let us know if you need further help after having a look at those resources referenced above.

Actually, the Eventbrite plugin will work with any theme that doesn’t have its own templates; the problem here is that DMS has some sort of custom Page Template selector of its own that blocks the plugin from injecting its own Eventbrite Events template into the dropdown to choose from.

The easiest solution seems to be setting the page template to Eventbrite Events while another theme is active, so you can access it. Then switch back to DMS, and that page should still have the Eventbrite Events template assigned to it (but you won’t see it in the dropdown list).

I’ll try that. Thanks. I’ll let you know how that works out.

I switched to a default theme where I was able to choose EventBrite Events in the page templates. The issue now is that it’s not pulling my events. I get a message that nothing is found. Even when previewed from a default theme.

When I test the connection, i get a message that it is connected correctly. When i log into Eventbrite, it says that I have 3 live events.

Here’s the page as it stands now:

    sorry. it’s password protected

[login details removed – please don’t post these publicly]

Are your Eventbrite events public events? The plugin will only display public events by default.

I have the exactly same issue: the connection is working alright, the event is set to public, template is set on the page – yet I get the message that nothing is found. Even when previewed from a default theme.

    Please advise…

    Thanks,

Hi Mark, can you start a separate forum thread for yourself please, we don’t want anyone to get missed. Thanks!

    Hi jharri,

Can you disconnect and re-connect to Eventbrite one more time in Tools > Keyring then? That will force the plugin to recheck, just in case empty results got saved before. Oh, and there’s also an update to the plugin that went out a couple of days ago, just make sure that’s updated too.

If that doesn’t help, can you send the eventbrite.com links to a couple of your public events please?

Hi jharri, any update on this issue?

hi. I’m going to try to it today.

Ok. So apparently, the events have to publish or weren’t readily discoverable on eventbrite.com. They are now appearing in the post. I didn’t have to do anything further in regards to re-installing. Thank you for responding and following up.
