    Yes. The plugin you’re looking for to do this is called “Category Visibility” and you can find it here: https://ryowebsite.com/?p=46

    It adds a new suboption called “Category Visibility” to your Manage menu, and there you set whole categories to not display on the main page or not show up in RSS or lots of other options. Very handy.

    I have a problem, it doesn’t work with “optioncount”

    I don’t understand what you’re talking about. Do you mean optioncount as in wp_list_cats()? I don’t see any reason why it would not work with that option. It even accounts for that in the cv_alter_vis_catlist() function.

    I have tried with optioncount=1 but it didn’t work ??

    so i have deleted it, i would like only hide a category in the main page…install a plugin for doing it it’s too expand.

    I would like if it’s possible do the same with the loop function:

    <?php query_posts(‘category_name=special_cat&showposts=10’); ?>

    <?php while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>
    <!– Do special_cat stuff… –>
    <?php endwhile;?>

    Do you ahve any idea ?

    Marco: I don’t normally have optioncount=1, so I decided to try it myself. It works just fine. The optioncount setting has no effect on whether the posts are hidden or not.

    And the Category Visibility plugin *does* hide posts in the loop. That’s sort of the whole point. To hide posts from whatever categories you want on whatever page you want.
