Don't understand: Confirm signatures 'Return URL'

  • What does this function do?

    I created a page on my site & put the URL into the form field, but I was not redirected to this page upon filling out the form. Am I doing something wrong? Am I misunderstanding what a ‘Return URL’ is?

    (I installed the SpeakOut! Email Petitions plugin, and I selected ‘Add New’ under the ‘Email petitions’ menu on the left-hand side of my WordPress dashboard… the option for ‘Confirm signatures’ and ‘Return URL’ (which is directly underneath it appears on the right-hand side of the screen to create a petition.)
